SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwire) — 07/20/11 — Supertex (NASDAQ: SUPX), a recognized leader in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced the MD2131, a high speed, arbitrary waveform push-pull source driver designed for use in diagnostic medical and high intensity, focused ultrasound (HIFU) applications. The IC can also be used in non-destructive image evaluation, metal flaw detection, sonar phase arrays and piezoelectric transducer waveform drivers.
MD2131 consists of CMOS digital logic inputs, an eight-bit digital-to-analog converter and a high speed serial peripheral interface. The output stage of the IC is designed to be the source driver for the Supertex DN2625, a depletion-mode, N-channel, 250V MOSFET. The chipset provides extremely accurate beamforming and focus scanning for diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound applications.
