The appointment reflects TELUS– commitment to further strengthen its board by recruiting outstanding candidates who bring strategic expertise and significant operational experience across key markets.

Appointed as the CEO of TVO in 2005, Lisa has led the transformation of Ontario–s public educational media organization to a fully digital, interactive source of multi-platform educational content that continues to engage and empower its citizens.
Previously, she served as Astral Television–s President and CEO and also worked as legal counsel to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and, later, Director General of its Cable Television, Specialty and Pay Television Service.
Her significant board experience reflects her interest in film, media and television, and includes the Canadian Digital Media Network Advisory Board as well as her role as the current Chair of the Board of TIFF.
Lisa graduated from McGill University–s law school with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a LL.B. degree. Fluently bilingual, Lisa is a passionate advocate for Canadian film and educational broadcasters across the country. In 2013, she was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her support and dedication to scientific literacy, and in 2009 she was recognized with a Women–s Executive Network (WXN) Canada–s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 award.
