TP-LINK Canada Inc. today announced two 7-port USB 3.0 hubs – the UH700 and UH720 – providing a more efficient way to manage the many USB devices found in homes and offices.
Both models are self-powered with their own AC adapters, and can instantly add up to seven USB peripherals, such as USB flash drives, cameras, printers, mice, and tablets, to a laptop or desktop computer. The more advanced UH720 hub comes equipped with two additional high-power 2.4A charging ports and can simultaneously charge two mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and MP3 players.
Smart Charging
The UH720 hub boasts smart charging capabilities. A built-in intelligent chip recognizes the output of connected devices and automatically adjusts the power on each of the ports for optimal charging speeds.
The safe and reliable operation of both USB hubs is ensured by many protective features, including built-in short circuit, over-voltage, over-current, and over-heating.
Supports USB 3.0
The USB 3.0 ports offer speeds of up to 5Gbps (10 times faster than USB 2.0), making the USB hubs well suited for fast data transfers between any PC or Mac computer and USB connected devices. Both USB 3.0 Hub models are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices.
Highlights
“The UH700 and UH720 offer plug-n-play operation by simply connecting the USB hub to a power outlet and USB port of a computer,” says Mark Macaulay, director of sales for TP-LINK Canada. “Once the USB hub is connected, the time consuming practice of device switching is eliminated.”
Macaulay adds, “The many built-in protective features of the new USB hubs help avoid any potential harm to your connected devices, whether transferring data or charging devices.”
Pricing and Availability
The UH700 and UH720 USB 3.0 7-Port Hubs have suggested list prices of $49.99 (CAD) and $59.99 (CAD), respectively. Product availability is in January, 2015 from TP-LINK–s retail and online partner network across Canada. For additional product information visit:
