SAN DIEGO, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/18/14 — Cue®, a technology company creating consumer health products, announced today that it has raised $7.5 million in a Series A round of funding led by SherpaVentures. Immortalana, an early angel investor in Cue (founded by Chairwoman, Kelly Day, Robin Farias-Eisner MD PhD, and Srinivasa Reddy PhD), will also participate in the Series A. The new round of funding will support Cue–s mission to empower consumers by allowing them to access molecular level data from their bodies in minutes at home, without an appointment.
In addition, Cue announced that two new members, Shervin Pishevar, Managing Director at SherpaVentures and Robin Farias-Eisner MD PhD, Professor at UCLA Medical School, and partner in Immortalana, will join CEO and founder Ayub Khattak on the Board of Directors. Mr. Pishevar will leverage his experience as an early investor in companies like Uber, AirBnB, Warby Parker, and Tumblr to help guide Cue–s growth. Dr. Farias-Eisner will continue to bring his experience as a practicing surgeon and life sciences researcher to bear on Cue–s product development.
“Major tech players are entering this emerging space where health technology meets consumers. Cue–s unique design to measure and track deep, molecular data enhances the space by providing a layer of data that complements data streams from wearable activity trackers and improves access to information that can help people take action to manage their wellness,” said Ayub Khattak. “We saw SherpaVentures as a clear choice because of their track record of success and their understanding of companies that deliver services that consumers want on demand.”
“I see Cue as a unique approach to consumer health. I–m interested in working with companies that can offer services and commerce solutions quickly, and adapt to the mobile consumer. Cue is a prime example of the –on demand– economy applied to health and wellness,” said Mr. Pishevar. “We exist at a moment where major companies in the tech space are entering the consumer health space, and I believe that Cue–s solution pushes the envelope and has enormous potential to change the way consumers interact with and understand their health.”
Dr. Farias-Eisner MD, PhD said, “Cue has the potential to change the way healthcare is practiced by providing trackable health data that can empower patients and doctors simultaneously through mobile devices.”

Interactive charts make it easy to discover new trends, monitor your progress, and share it with the people who matter most. Cue also features Life Feed, an incredible new smartphone-based way to visualize the daily effect of activity, food, and sleep on your molecular levels and overall wellness.
