According to Cisco–s Visual Networking Index released earlier this year, by 2018, the amount of video-on-demand Internet traffic will be equivalent to 6 billion DVDs per month. The Streaming Video Alliance plans to address this challenge by focusing on the creation of an open architecture for online video that will deliver seamless industry interoperability and result in higher Quality of Experience (QoE) for consumers.
