REDWOOD CITY, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/10/14 — , a leading solutions company for broadband service providers, today announced that ASSIA CEO and Chairman Dr. John Cioffi will share his insights on addressing and managing access-network technology issues, at The NBN: Rebooted conference in Sydney on November 18, 2014. The Access Technology Issues Panel will discuss the latest developments in access technologies such as FTTP and FTTN, and how these technologies can work with the rebooted NBN. The panel will also explain how the optimal combination of broadband access technologies can benefit the industry, as well as consumers.
Widely known as the “Father of DSL,” and an inventor of Vectored VDSL, Dr. Cioffi advocates the economical use of existing copper phone lines to deliver speeds exceeding 100 megabits per second (Mbps) for the NBN. Broadband networks combining fiber to a neighborhood cabinet and vectored VDSL for the last-mile connection to homes already have been deployed in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, China, Austria and the United States.
