PHOENIX, AZ — (Marketwired) — 10/14/14 — . (NYSE: IM) today announced the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® has elected Tom Bamrick, general manager for Ingram Micro Consumer Electronics, to its 2015 Board of Industry Leaders (BIL). CEA is the technology trade association representing the $211 billion U.S. consumer electronics industry, and also owns and produces the International CES® – The Global Stage for Innovation. The 45-person 2015 BIL serves CEA and its Executive Board in an advisory role, helping to set public policy positions and priorities for association activities.
“We are thrilled to have Tom Bamrick join CEA–s Board of Industry Leaders,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA. “The BIL offers invaluable experience and strategic direction to help guide our association and our industry. Bamrick joins some of the most innovative industry leaders in the consumer technology business as a member of our Board. With his vast experience and expertise, we look forward to his contributions to our BIL and our association.”
During his twenty year career with Ingram Micro, Bamrick has led a number of company initiatives and developed strategic relationships with Ingram Micro–s largest, multi-billion dollar global partners. As the general manager of Ingram Micro–s CE business, he runs the day-to-day operations and is responsible for the success of the teams located in Scottsdale Ariz., the CE divisional headquarters, as well as in Buffalo, NY and Manila, Philippines. Under Bamrick–s leadership, the Ingram Micro CE business has recognized significant growth in alliance with industry leading vendors such as Samsung, and diversified its product and customer portfolio via expansion into categories such as housewares and home automation.
“It–s a privilege to be joining my industry peers from so many great organizations and serving on the board of an organization that has such a well-respected voice and is valued as an educational resource for the CE industry,” said Bamrick. “During my 20 years at Ingram Micro, I–ve been fortunate to play a role in the evolution and convergence of the IT and CE channels, and have seen much of the industry–s innovation and value firsthand. I–m looking forward to working collaboratively with the other BIL members to help shape the future of the CE landscape.”
Fifteen new members of CEA–s BIL and the Executive Board were confirmed by a vote of CEA members at the CEA event held earlier this year in Phoenix, Ariz. Other recently elected BIL members include representatives from AT&T, Certified Sounds, Cobra Electronics, Ford, Fujifilm North America Corp., iBiquity Digital Corp., Incipio, MiTek Electronics and Communications, Panasonic Consumer North America & Global Panasonic Digital, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., Samsung Electronics America Inc., Specialty Technologies/SVS, Stopped.at and ViXS.
