SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 09/29/14 — ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – Oracle (NYSE: ORCL)
Communications service providers (CSPs) often experience lengthy and costly service launches and technology introductions, inefficient service delivery, and high ongoing cost of operations due to a fragmented service design approach and widespread labor-intensive testing across multiple siloed systems. New Oracle Communications operations support systems (OSS) applications, available now, help CSPs rapidly launch and deliver new services and manage, optimize, and transform their underlying network infrastructure.
Oracle Communications today announced a new general availability release of its OSS applications including , , , , , , and .
The expanded Oracle Communications OSS family, when configured within the Oracle Communications Rapid Service Design and Order Delivery solution, can help CSPs design, launch, and deliver new consumer and enterprise services — including LTE, IPTV, VoIP, data, and cloud/IT services — quickly and cost effectively on both network and IT platforms.
In addition, when configured within the , Oracle Communications OSS applications enable CSPs to plan, build, optimize, and transform physical and nascent virtual networks, facilitating more-agile and lower-cost network operations.
Oracle Communications will showcase Oracle Communications Rapid Service Design and Order Delivery and s using the latest OSS releases at Demo Pod #5, located in the Marriott Marquis San Francisco, from September 29 through October 1.
The latest release of Oracle Communications– pre-integrated OSS applications:
Simplifies solution configuration by providing a unified design experience to model products, services, and network/IT resources together with their fulfillment behavior all within the service catalog.
Accelerates solution deployments with the introduction of new, configurable order management capabilities that automate the transformation of products to services during order processing, together with new and enhanced application programming interfaces (APIs) to support sophisticated service design and assign capabilities.
Enhances operational efficiency through the introduction of new engineering work order capabilities to manage and track complex network changes
Helps reduce solution implementation time, cost, and risk with the inclusion of an enhanced, end-to-end reference implementation that provides concrete solution implementation best practices for multiple service domains including internet, mobile, and more.
Oracle Communications OSS applications have been certified on a consistent and contemporary technical platform that supports and operating systems, , and . It also supports virtually seamless upgrades from earlier versions for easier and more consistent incorporation of new technology, security, and performance updates.
CSPs can deploy the entire Oracle Communications OSS family or selectively implement specific solutions or applications in a modular fashion, integrating third-party components. The applications are also fully integrated with Oracle Communications Rapid Offer Design and Order Delivery, using to support an end-to-end “order to activate” business process.
“This latest release of Oracle Communications OSS applications is further evidence of our track record in delivering integrated, product-based solutions. This provides our customers the confidence that Oracle will continue to address their current and future OSS requirements with contemporary, market-leading solutions as they evolve and transform their business,” said Bhaskar Gorti, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications.
“Many CSPs continue to spend considerable time and effort on OSS customization and integration, which impedes their ability to introduce new services and technologies in a timely and cost-effective manner. As a leading vendor in service fulfillment, Oracle–s focus on delivering pre-integrated solutions with open interfaces provides CSPs the efficiency of a broad solution footprint, the configurability to support CSP market differentiation, and the choice of deployment partner,” said Mark Mortensen, principal analyst, Analysys Mason.
