DENVER, CO — (Marketwired) — 09/23/14 — SCTE – Cable-Tec Expo – , Inc., (), the manufacturer of cutting edge mini cable modem termination systems (CMTS), today unveiled the industry–s only single box DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS. Loaded with innovative features, this product line features built in Subscriber Management, advanced Cable Plant Monitoring System (CPMS), as well as a new suite of tools designed specifically for the management and deployment of WiFi services. The powerful new line of CMTS can be seen at C9 Networks– booth #713 in Denver, Colorado, September 22-25, 2014 at the Society of Cable and Telecommunications Engineers– (SCTE) Cable-Tec Expo.
“C9 Networks has always been an innovator, the DOCSIS 3.0 line of CMTS keeps us at the forefront. We also value the opinions of our customers,” said Srini Kola, President and founder of C9 Networks. “Our customers wanted a solution that could not only offer new services, but a system that would provide easy deployment, monitoring and diagnostic capabilities. With our integrated single box solution we include a cable plant monitoring system, subscriber management system and a WiFi management system built right in. This eliminates the need for the customer to buy these expensive modules separately — thereby creating the most compelling solution on the market.”
The new line of DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS features a built in integrated management server as well as a subscriber management system that manages new and existing users from signing on to provisioning, and from service activation to deactivation. The subscriber management system can define the QoS and also features traffic filtering on a per subscriber basis.
The advanced Cable Plant Monitoring System identifies the performance of cable network branches based on subscriber Cable Modem performance. This intelligent system can also narrow down plant problems to very specific branches of the network and provide advance information on plant issues.
With wireless becoming ever more prevalent, C9–s new CMTS comes with an integrated WiFi management suite. The software helps identify modems connected to WiFi access points and users connected to them as a separate group from the wired users. By keeping WiFi and wired users– data separate C9 Networks eliminates hacking by unscrupulous users from the WiFi side of the network which is typically less secure. This software monitors the WiFi subsection of the RF network separately enabling identification and resolution of network issues quickly.
