CHICAGO, IL — (Marketwired) — 09/18/14 — SingleHop, the leading provider of cloud-enabled managed hosting and on-demand infrastructure, today announced its participation in National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) for the month of October. Participants of the event demonstrate a continued commitment to cyber security and in making the Internet a safe and secure place for all.
Security features embedded into the SingleHop product start from the physical protection of its data center facilities, all the way down through the server, network, application and account levels. Data center facilities are staffed by SingleHop engineers at all times and are equipped with biometric access controls and closed circuit television systems.
In addition, anti-virus protection, monitoring and application patching are in place at the server layer and mechanisms like private networking and firewalls are in place to ensure that data is protected and isolated. Intrusion detection also comes standard at the application level, with SingleHop team members closely monitoring the system for any possible threats into the network.
SingleHop also collaborates with a variety of enterprise-class security partners such as AlertLogic, Radware, McAfee, and New Relic to name a few.
“One of the biggest concerns for cloud enablement is ensuring top to bottom security on all fronts. At SingleHop, security is paramount and is one of the four pillars that our Enterprise on Demand Program was built,” said Andy Pace, COO of Singlehop. “We are proud to take part in National Cyber Security Awareness Month but also recognize that security as an ongoing effort and responsibility. From the physical security of our servers, network security through multiple firewalls, a dedicated 24/7 security team, and finally working closely with our security partners, we are committed to delivering and maintaining a safe and comprehensive enterprise-ready solution.”
This year–s NCSAM theme is –Our Shared Responsibility.– As a shared resource, the internet affects every facet of daily life. By taking steps to implement security features and promoting the importance of security, individuals and organizations can take part in the collective movement to offer a safer online experience.
Each week for the month of October is dedicated to promoting an important cyber security aspect; topics include simple measures one can take to have a safer online experience, building security into IT products, protecting critical infrastructure, cyber security for small and medium businesses and finally cybercrime and law enforcement.
