MobyDick CTI Desktop Client
Telephone Systems and their scope of functions have significantly advanced through development over the last 10 years. In todays world, communication and associated technologies are more than just the transfer of a voice, and now include connecting users visually. Therefore, is increasingly important above all else, that the user has access to all the important information in an easy to use and read overview form. Naturally, we are talking about CTI (Computer Telephony Integration).
The Asterisk based Voice over IP Telephone System MobyDick has had its own integrated CTI Desktop Client since 2010. But now with the release of MobyDick 7.06 pascom has published a completely new Client, which thanks to the complete overhauling of the underlying programming and basing the new Client on JavaFX technology, the new Client has been greatly improved in many aspects, most notably in its new design and new functionality. Thanks to the new layout and modifications to the underlying programming of the UI, the usability of the client has been greatly improved. Moreover, the Client can still be run on all the major Operating Systems and features such as Presence Statuses of colleagues and their Telephones, Call Forwarding, Chat and Click-to-Dial, which were already supported in previous Client versions, are of course still included, only now they have been improved.
New Client functions include:
– Toggle between a number of different views
– Voicemails and Recordings Management
– Control your own Queues/Teams directly from the Client
– dmg & exe files already include a Java Packet
– Setup of your own Groups
With the 7.06 Release, pascom would also like to introduce the New FlexPanel Framework, which is a modular system specifically for Operator Panels.
“The original idea was to develop a switchboard, but we then thought why not create a Framework with which you could build, in addition to a detailed switchboard, other views such as a Monitoring Dashboard or Supervisor Console” Mathias Pasquay – Managing Director pascom Netzwerktechnik.
The panels can be designed to include numerous widgets as well as customizable themes according to the customer requirements. To this end, it does not matter whether the customer requires web application integration, statistics, Queues/Team Statuses, webcam integration or even the integration of a Door Entry System. It also goes without saying that all Telephony Information such as Line status and user statuses can also be displayed and controlled. Workflows such as the transferring/distribution of calls can be easily accomplished via Drag & Drop.
Therefore, the new MobyDick Release provides a great array of new features which will greatly facilitate and optimize the workflow processes of the end users.
