NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 12/16/13 — Omnigon was honored last week with an Interactive Media Award, recognizing outstanding achievement in web design and development. Omnigon received an Outstanding Achievement Award for its submission of the app created for Spike TV-s Bellator programming.
Omnigon worked with Spike TV to develop a groundbreaking app for its coverage of the emerging mixed martial arts franchise, Bellator MMA. This app that gave fans an opportunity to become “The 4th Judge,” in addition to delivering information on the fighters and their history, the judges, and relevant video content. The judging component gave the app a video-game like feel and a visual progress bar showcased this fan interaction.
“Omnigon was honored to be recognized by the Interactive Media Awards for our work with the Spike team in developing this groundbreaking app,” said Nick Arcuri, Director of Sports Products at Omnigon. “Our teams worked closely for some time to ensure the end result was something fans would enjoy and both parties would be proud of.”
“We were thrilled to partner with Omnigon to create an incredible immersive second-screen experience that has truly resonated with our Bellator fan base,” said Ben Hurst, Vice President, Mobile and Emerging Platforms, Viacom Entertainment Group.
