(NASDAQ: MERU), a leader in wireless networking, today announced that Dan Pitt, executive director of the Open Networking Foundation and president of Palo Alto Innovation Advisors LLC, has joined the Meru Executive Advisory Board. The board is comprised of technology industry experts and influencers that provide advice to Meru president and CEO Dr. Bami Bastani and the Meru executive team on industry direction and other matters of strategic significance.
Pitt spent twenty years developing networking architecture, technology, standards and products at IBM, Hewlett Packard, Bay Networks and Nortel Networks and has served on advisory boards at UC Berkeley and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne. He previously served as dean of the school of engineering and holder of the Sobrato Chair in Engineering at Santa Clara University. He taught as an adjunct professor at Duke University and the University of North Carolina and has more than fifty publications and one patent to his credit. Pitt holds a B.S. in mathematics (magna cum laude) from Duke University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Illinois.
