SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwired) — 11/20/13 — 2nd Watch, Inc., a global leader in building, deploying and managing Amazon Web Services based IT operations for the enterprise, today announced it successfully completed a complex cloud migration project of Adobe Business Catalyst (Business Catalyst). Amazon Web Services (AWS) was selected as the cloud vendor for the project based on its ease of integration and cost effectiveness.
With more than 120,000 active sites, tens of millions of email messages processed each month and 100 TB of data served each month, Business Catalyst required three global datacenters. With an expensive infrastructure update on the horizon, Adobe made the strategic decision to bring its Business Catalyst solution to the cloud. Adobe sought a partner that could complete the migration within an aggressive timeframe. The company chose 2nd Watch for their proven ability to accommodate tight time constraints and complex migrations, as well as their AWS Premier Partner status.
As the company behind Creative Cloud, a suite of creative tools and services that run in the cloud, Adobe was already familiar with cloud operations and environments. While Adobe employs many qualified IT associates with deep experience, the environments offered by the cloud vendors evaluated required additional technical staff with the operational experience to complete the migration successfully and within the project-s timeframe.
“There is very little question where the future of enterprise computing lies and it-s in the cloud. As a result, we are increasingly seeing companies initiate these types of complex projects,” stated Matt Gerber, executive vice president of sales and marketing at 2nd Watch. “We take great pride in the fact that the 2nd Watch team is chosen time and again to lead these types of migrations. This particular project, with its size and scope, is a testament to our extensive knowledge and expertise with public cloud providers, as well as our ability to meet the customer-s needs on time and on budget.”
Going forward, 2nd Watch will act as an extension of the Adobe enterprise IT operations team to manage and monitor the operations of the Business Catalyst AWS environment, providing Adobe a complete, end-to-end solution for their datacenter transformation.
