LOS ANGELES, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/19/13 — — Centrify Corporation, the leader in across data center, cloud and mobile, today announced the general availability of customer-driven updates to the latest version of the Centrify Server Suite security and compliance solution in use today by more than 5,000 organizations worldwide. Featuring the new Centrify Identity Risk Assessor (CIRA), Release 3 (“2013.3”) enables organizations to quickly and effectively identify identity-related risks to help protect them from internal threats and meet compliance requirements across the broadest set of cross-platform systems deployed on-premise and in the cloud.
In today-s IT environments, threats or breaches associated with the actions of insiders — including employees, IT contractors, offshore IT workers and partners — are amplified by the fact that they are not all malicious but can also be completely unintentional. According to the , half of all IT security incidents are caused by user mistakes.(1) Regardless of how they are perpetrated, accidentally or intentionally, they have the same potential to wreak havoc with data, infrastructure and reputations.
Linking access privileges and activity back to specific individuals establishes both the control required to minimize security risks and the visibility required to achieve compliance, resulting in operational efficiencies across heterogeneous server environments. However, managing user privileges can be challenging in many organizations since identities and entitlements often reside in disparate silos or are managed locally on servers rather than centrally. The Centrify Server Suite leverages existing directory infrastructure to identify and eliminate “blind spots” in administrative access.
Centrify-s solution will be demonstrated in its Booth No. 406 at the Gartner Identity and Access Management Summit being held this week in Los Angeles at the JW Marriott hotel. In addition, Matt Hur, Centrify senior director of product management, will present “Identity-Related Risks: What-s the Real Insider Threat?” on Nov. 19 at 10:30 am PST in the Diamond Ballroom 7 at the event.
The (CIRA) is a new risk management feature of the Centrify Server Suite that scans server environments to locate identity-related risks on UNIX and Linux servers. CIRA correlates these findings into a comprehensive set of dashboards and reports capturing identity vulnerabilities and compliance violations that compare exposures to recommended best practices. It can discover hidden issues in the UNIX and Linux infrastructure, such as inconsistent password policies across servers, excessive use of local root and service accounts, and many other fundamental security weaknesses that can be hard to identify and correct. Centrify-s experience in securing access controls and auditing servers both on premise and in the cloud with more than 5,000 customers uniquely positions it to provide the level of insight organizations needed to expose, understand and mitigate identity-related risks, ultimately reducing insider threat.
“With a rapidly increasing number of privileged identities to manage, and the growing diversity of server environments, unanticipated risks are the real insider threat facing organizations today,” said Hur. “With Centrify, organizations can reduce identity-related risks across servers deployed on premise and in the cloud with unique visibility into and discovery of those risks, simplified privileged access management and auditing, and correlation of all privileged activity to an individual, all while leveraging their existing Active Directory infrastructure and skillsets across servers deployed on premise and in the cloud.”
