HITEC Reveals List of Top 100 Most Influential Hispanics in Information Technology

DETROIT, MI — (Marketwired) — 11/14/13 — The Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) has announced the 2014 HITEC 100, a premier comprehensive list of the most influential and notable Hispanic professionals in the information technology industry. The HITEC 100 will be honored at the HITEC 100 Gala and Corporate Awards Reception as part of the Hispanic IT Executive Council-s Q4 Silicon Valley IT Leadership Summit in Palo Alto, CA on November 14-15, 2013.

The purpose of the HITEC 100 is to recognize outstanding Hispanic IT leaders who are leading innovation in their positions and serving as role models that inspire up-and-coming young Hispanic trail blazers to pursue careers in technology.

This year-s introduction of the Corporation and Member of the Year Award is designed to recognize the HITEC member and supporting organization that have contributed significantly to the success of the Hispanic IT Executive Council over the last year. This year, we honor Cisco Corporation and HITEC Board Member, Myrna Soto, SVP & CIISO Officer at Comcast for going above and beyond their duties as a member of the HITEC community.

The 2014 HITEC 100 were selected based on criteria that evaluated their individual achievements in the industry, professional level, scope of responsibility, position held in their company, as well as their involvement in boards and diversity initiatives. This year-s 100 were selected out of more than 300 nominations by a four-member panel of judges. The 2014 honorees are among the best in their careers, their companies and their communities.

“We are extremely proud of this historic listing of the HITEC 100, which highlights the many accomplishments of 100 truly great leaders in the global IT Industry,” said Andre Arbelaez, HITEC president. “The HITEC 100 not only highlights these individuals as influential Hispanics, but also their community and public policy relationships within the $1 trillion U.S. domestic Hispanic market and multi-trillion dollar international economy.”

The Summit, themed “The Effect of Hispanic Leadership on Innovation”, hosted by SAP Labs, will give attendees the opportunity to participate in important discussions and panels with topics relevant to the IT industry, including Cyber Security, Diversity & Inclusion, and Big Data & Innovation.
