OpenLogic to Bring Enterprise-Ready, Open Source Software Packages to Amazon Web Services Customers

BROOMFIELD, CO — (Marketwired) — 11/13/13 — OpenLogic, recently acquired by Rogue Wave Software, announced today plans to deliver enterprise-ready open source software packages with enterprise support options to Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers via the AWS Marketplace.

“We are excited to see Rogue Wave doubling down on OpenLogic-s presence in the AWS Marketplace and launching a new set of open source software with enterprise-ready quality and support,” said Terry Hanold, Vice President, Cloud Commerce, AWS. “We expect the new selection of pre-configured stacks combining software like Apache, JBoss and MySQL on CentOS to be particularly appealing to customers in the AWS Marketplace.”

By expanding its offerings available via the AWS Marketplace, OpenLogic will introduce more than 50 new products to its current pre-configured stacks available through AWS, including production-level support for JBoss®, Apache HTTP, Tomcat, MySQL®, PostgreSQL®, ActiveMQ, and the CentOS operating system.

OpenLogic will make available enterprise support for all of the included open source products on the AWS Marketplace. Enterprise support will include both 12×5 business hour support and 24×7 production level support. Products will be offered for use at an hourly rate.

“With this initiative, OpenLogic will bring enterprise-grade support for these open source products on the AWS Marketplace,” said Brian Pierce, CEO of Rogue Wave. “The expansion of our work with AWS is a key step in our strategic vision to help keep enterprise customers running on some of the world-s best open source packages.”

OpenLogic-s enterprise open source support options, coupled with their open source scanning, governance and provisioning portal, OLEX, allow organizations to embrace open source with confidence. OLEX provides mechanisms to find open source by scanning source and binary files. Once found, the open source packages are listed along with their license obligations and potential conflicts. OpenLogic can also perform scans for organizations using their experienced audit team, ensuring quick turnaround of information.
