TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwired) — 11/12/13 — Public Mobile is providing help to Canadians sending financial aid to their loved ones in the Philippines. Four days after Typhoon Haiyan ravaged the region there is an urgent call for supplies as well as cash.
In this time of need, Public Mobile is working with RIA Financial so that people can transfer money from a Public Cash Services location free of charge.
“Our company was built, in part, by new Canadians,” said Alek Krstajic, CEO of Public Mobile. “The recent crisis in the Philippines has affected many of our customers and their families, and to assist in these times of need, we have solidified an agreement with our Public Cash Services partner, RIA, to provide a means to transfer funds safely, quickly and at no charge.”
This initiative is intended to help families and friends abroad receive much needed financial help with no service charges for the sender. The offer will be available until November 24th. Anyone wishing to also send money to the Philippines Red Cross can do so at the same time. RIA has set up a partnership with the Philippines Red Cross and will transfer the money for free.
