Vision Critical Appoints Kobi Ofir as CTO

TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwired) — 11/06/13 — Vision Critical, the leading provider of insight community technologies, today announced that software industry veteran Kobi Ofir has joined the company as chief technology officer (CTO). Working closely with the executive management team, Ofir will play a key role in shaping the company-s product innovation and technology strategy as Vision Critical scales its insight community solutions suite and global footprint.

As a recognized technology leader, Ofir brings more than two decades of experience to Vision Critical. Prior to joining, Ofir served as the vice president of product development for Eloqua, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oracle. Eloqua, recognized for its marketing automation and revenue performance management technology, was acquired by Oracle in December 2012 for $871 million, where Ofir played a key role in the technology and product due diligence and integration processes involved in the transition. Previous to Eloqua, Ofir held numerous CTO roles with companies including Rypple, later acquired by Salesforce.com, Virgin Gaming and the Internet Division of First Data Corporation.

“We-re excited to have Kobi Ofir join Vision Critical as chief technology officer and know that he is the ideal person to lead the product and technology innovation charge for the business,” said Scott Miller, group CEO of Vision Critical. “At the heart of successful technology companies are proven CTOs who help drive innovation and product development and for Vision Critical, now is the most opportune time to have Kobi on board to help take us to the next level.”

“Kobi brings years of marketing technology related experience-an asset to Vision Critical and our customer engagement and insight software. His talent and knowledge are key to accelerating the company-s global mass market potential as the adoption of insight community technologies continues to increase,” said Andrew Reid, president, founder and chief product officer of Vision Critical. “We are eager to see Kobi apply his technical vision and strategic expertise to our fast-growing business.”

In addition to his posts as CTO, Ofir has held various software development and leadership roles at software firms including Architel Systems, which was acquired by Nortel Networks, and SNS Systems, later purchased by Bell Canada Enterprises. Ofir currently sits on the advisory board of KEV Group, which more than 6,300 schools use for school-level accounting, online payments and auditing. Ofir is a graduate of York University and the University of British Columbia, where he received a master-s degree in computer science.

“I am thrilled to be joining Vision Critical, a fast-growing leader in insight communities. The company has a great opportunity to use technology to redefine and grow the global consumer engagement and insights marketplace,” said Kobi Ofir, CTO of Vision Critical. “I look forward to bringing the power of Vision Critical Insight Communities to a broader set of industries and markets and extending the company-s market leadership position.”
