LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — (Marketwired) — 10/31/13 — today announced the general U.S. availability and ®, the world-s first intelligent, wearable camera. Autographer uses sensor technology to automatically capture images hands-free, allowing users to live in the moment rather than behind a lens — changing the way photographs are taken.
Whether it-s re-living your vacations, remembering precious moments with your children, documenting special events or lifelogging a day-s activities, Autographer offers people a new type of photography to capture life as it happens. We call it .
Autographer captures authentic images of -real life- — rather than -posed life-. People can completely enjoy and experience the moment without having to pause to take photos. Autographer ensures that the best moments which may have otherwise been missed are completely captured. Over time, these moments gain sentimental value and with Autographer you can ensure you have both the memory and image to hold onto.
“With the rise in online media sharing, we see lifelogging cameras like the Autographer becoming more and more common place with the average user. We look forward to the new ways that U.S. consumers will use Autographer to capture their life-s moments,” says Simon Randall, Head of OMG Life. “We-ve also seen some very exciting use cases so far in Europe, from companies documenting their events to research agencies gaining insights into consumers and even architects cataloguing work sites.”
An intelligent, can capture a rich story of an entire day through a custom wide-angle lens, enabling users to enjoy experiences without having to pause for photos. Autographer chooses the perfect time to take a picture, using its five on-board sensors to detect changes in light, motion, direction, color and temperature:
Autographer-s “eye” perceives light and brightness, adjusting the image accordingly
a built-in thermometer measures ambient temperature
determines which direction the camera is facing
a motion detector uses infrared light to sense moving objects
measures how quickly or slowly the Autographer is accelerating
With its 136-degree wide-angle lens, Autographer can take an average of up to 2,000 images per day depending on user-defined sensitivity settings. It can store up to 16,000 images; meaning up to 8 days of images could be captured before the 8GB storage limit is reached. Additionally, GPS functionality pinpoints Autographer-s location, so users can see exactly where their photographs were taken.
Autographer comes with easy-to-use desktop software and a smartphone app, allowing people to view and edit photos, helping to construct a digital story of their day. The software and app also allow users to create quick and easy stop-frame videos and animated GIF images.
Autographer will be in the U.S. on 31st October 2013, with shipping starting from 15th November, through the Autographer website at for $399. The Autographer app is also available now on Apple App stores and will soon be available for Android.
