OMAHA, NE — (Marketwired) — 10/24/13 — , the leading pure-play managed security service provider (MSSP), today announced that it has enhanced its patented, cloud-based ActiveGuard® Security and Compliance Platform. This latest version features an enhanced portal interface, vulnerability scanning service, and user-managed reference-list functionality. Clients can now customize their user experience, streamline vulnerability and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) management processes, and improve their security-event management processes to better support their internal security and compliance requirements.
This latest release gives clients increased visibility into their IT environments, improved threat intelligence and full vulnerability lifecycle management that allows them to reduce security risks across their organizations while saving them valuable time. Added features and enhancements include:
User-managed reference lists can now be combined with Solutionary reference lists, allowing clients to incorporate their own specific requirements and data sources into the ActiveGuard security-event processing stream, giving them additional rule-customization options.
Updates to the vulnerability scanning service give clients more-efficient process control for their Payment Card Industry (PCI) Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) scans. From the on-boarding process through vulnerability attestation and workflow management to the required ASV documentation, the PCI-compliant workflow is now faster and more efficient.
Proprietary scan-data perspectives, event statuses and workflow dispositions allow clients to view, manage and remediate internal scan data in a PCI-compliant manner with full user-customizable dashboards.
Redesigned portal interface provides clients with increased control and improved usability along with customizable scanning and reporting.
“Enterprises are under constant attack from advanced persistent threats (APTs), nation-states and bad actors, leaving them vulnerable to advanced threats and data breaches that inflict brand and financial damage,” said Don Gray, chief security strategist. “Since ActiveGuard monitored its first clients in 2000, we have continually enhanced the platform to protect clients 24/7 and to give them access to new tools, features and capabilities that keep them protected against an ever-changing threat landscape. “
The ActiveGuard platform was purpose-built as an MSSP platform, designed from the outset to provide multi-tenant for Solutionary clients, and has been awarded seven patents. ActiveGuard is able to accurately collect and correlate vast amounts of data from virtually any device capable of producing a log file, such as applications, databases, endpoints, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), unified threat managers (UTMs), web application firewalls (WAFs), file integrity monitoring (FIMs) and network devices. To detect threats and increase accuracy, ActiveGuard enriches gathered security data with a variety of contextual information such as vulnerabilities, assets, IP geolocation (GeoIP), malicious hosts, and privileged and non-privileged users. Advanced analytics and multiple detection methods, including signatures, anomaly detection, statistical analysis, heuristics and global threat intelligence from the Solutionary Security Engineering Research Team (SERT), help ActiveGuard detect today-s advanced threats, such as APTs.
