LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — (Marketwired) — 10/10/13 — GBST (ASX: GBT) (PINKSHEETS: GTDNF), a leading global provider of securities transaction and fund administration software for the financial services industry, was awarded the hotly-contested “Best use of Platform Technology” award at the 2013 Aberdeen Asset Management Platform Awards. This is the second year in a row that GBST has been recognised for its superior technology, having won last year in the Best Software category.
The Best use of Platform Technology is awarded to companies who have shown outstanding innovation in technology and service in the UK Platform market.
The shortlist for the award was impressive with the judges selecting GBST and Aegon, UK. On announcing the award, the judges said: “There are two winners in this category. The awards go to the platform and technology/software provider, the partnership that was deemed to have delivered the most successful new platform technology project in the last 12 months. The judges looked for a successful technology project that delivered a transformation to the platform provider, ideally a radical proposition.”
“The winners demonstrated speed to market, a radical proposition on existing technology, and the employment of a number of contributing partners, as well as sales momentum.”
This award recognised innovation and partnership between a technology supplier and a client. GBST and Aegon have been recognised for implementing market-leading technology that integrates workplace and at-retirement solutions. This UK first allows investors to accumulate wealth as part of their employers- plan, or as an individual, and then decumulate throughout retirement on the same platform.
