SageCloud Adds Powerhouse Trio of Technical Advisors

BOSTON, MA — (Marketwired) — 10/08/13 — , a leader in ultra-reliable storage systems at disruptive price points for archival, backup and big data, today announced the addition of three inaugural technical advisors:

, currently Software Engineer at Delphix, was co-founder of ZFS at Sun in 2001 and helped lead the Sun ZFS team for 9 years. Matt recently founded the community and holds 21 patents in the area of file system management.

recently served as CTO at Hadapt. Prior to Hadapt, Philip spent over 10 years at Endeca, building the company into a leader in business intelligence and search software for unstructured Big Data. Prior to Oracle-s acquisition of Endeca in 2011, Philip led technology development in both the Chief Architect and VP Engineering roles.

, currently Principal at Polyeidus LLC, was the co-Founder of V-Stor and CTO of Diligent Technologies, two storage technology companies that were successfully acquired. Following the acquisition of Diligent Technologies by IBM in 2008, Neville served as an IBM Consultant until founding Polyeidus in 2013.

“Each of these three leading technologists holds an enormous wealth of knowledge in subject matter that is critical to SageCloud,” said Jeff Flowers, CEO. “Matt was one of the original creators of ZFS, the file system of choice for Exabytes. Philip was a pioneer of business intelligence software for the structured and unstructured world of Big Data, and Neville is a veteran of multiple innovations in enterprise-class storage technology. We look forward to their guidance as SageCloud works towards our goal of fundamentally changing the economics of archival data storage.”

SageCloud-s mission is to deliver breakthrough price points for Cold Storage to cost-effectively manage storage of petabyte-scale data that is written once but infrequently accessed. With SageCloud, data center professionals can reap the benefits of storage on disk at price points approaching storage on tape. To achieve these economics, the SageCloud team has integrated open source and proprietary software to resolve the data durability deficiencies of commodity drives and to leverage better power management designs of open stack enclosures. SageCloud is headquartered in Boston, MA. For more information on SageCloud, visit , or follow SageCloud on Twitter at .
