Prysm Wins Another Global Broadcasting Customer

SAN JOSE, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/03/13 — a designer and manufacturer of videowall systems that deliver immersive and engaging user experiences, today announced a Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) videowall installation at broadcasting giant Beijing Television Network (BTV), in Beijing, China. BTV is one of the most influential broadcasters in China, offering a diverse mix of news, sports and entertainment to an audience of over 300 million.

The Prysm videowall delivers an impressive digital canvas measuring nearly 42 feet wide by seven and a half feet high (12.8m by 2.25m), with a four degree curve, making it one of the largest and most immersive displays in modern day broadcast television. It serves as the focal point of a state-of-the-art multimedia studio for BTV-s new Beijing Radio and Television Network (BRTN), which will simulcast live shows via both television and the internet. Prysm engineers worked with local integrator Century Sage Scientific and LPD distributor China Daheng to quickly implement a broadcast solution with stunning visual impact.

Key benefits BTV considered when choosing Prysm-s LPD videowall over other solutions included its unrivalled image quality and uniformity, no moiré artifacts, 178 degree viewing angles, bezel-free display and ability to handle fast moving video with no motion blur. Its excellent energy efficiency and the fact that it produces almost no heat, a pivotal advantage for a hot broadcast studio environment, were also key decision factors. These are the same positive attributes that both Dubai TV and MSNBC pointed to when choosing LPD videowalls for their high-profile broadcast studios.

“This installation further demonstrates that LPD technology is the ideal videowall solution for broadcasters around the globe,” said Sidney Rittenberg, Jr., Prysm-s VP and general manager for Greater China. “No other display technology offers the compelling advantages of LPD videowalls. The industry is constantly searching for new ways to engage and captivate audiences, and without question, groundbreaking LPD technology delivers incredibly immersive viewing experiences and the highest level of engagement attainable.”

Prysm LPD videowalls deliver beautiful, bright images and can scale to more than 100 feet (30.5m) in width while maintaining image uniformity over the entire display area. Multiple users can interact simultaneously with Prysm videowalls through touch, motion sensing and their mobile devices. Thanks to the excellent energy efficiency of LPD technology, Prysm videowalls consume less power and run cooler than any competing display solution.

Recent LPD installations include: , at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) building in Stockholm, in New York and .
