SANTA CLARA, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/01/13 — ., the leading Software Defined Power solutions provider for data centers, today announced the appointment of enterprise software veteran Andrew Stickler to the position of vice president of engineering. Reporting directly to President and CEO Pete Malcolm, Andrew will lead Power Assure-s worldwide engineering team and hold responsibility for all product delivery work for the company-s entire product line, including its Software Defined Power solutions that further reduce the risk of outages by matching the IT application load level to the most reliable and cost effective source of power at any given time.

Power Assure also announced the opening of a UK Development Center in Taunton, Somerset. As a global company, Power Assure will be able to tap top software talent on both continents as it continues to advance its Software Defined Power solutions. Currently, the Power Assure Taunton office is run by Andrew and has a core team of eight engineers.

Andrew joined Power Assure from CA Technologies where he was vice president of software engineering. Andrew led the development of CA-s data loss prevention product line for over thirteen years, from its inception at Orchestria Corporation in 2000, through CA-s acquisition of the company in 2009. The mission critical solution was globally deployed by a wide range of Wall Street firms including Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and many others. From 1993 – 2000 Andrew led the development team responsible for the now industry standard Open File / Snapshot backup technology present in many millions of servers worldwide, first as principal architect at IQ International from 1993 until its acquisition by Cheyenne Software in 1996, through Cheyenne-s acquisition by CA Technologies the following year, until joining Orchestria in 2000. Andrew holds a first class honors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leeds, England.
