New Jersey Accelerates State Buildings Regulatory Approval Process With Avolve Digital Plan Services

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — (Marketwired) — 09/26/13 — Avolve Software Corporation, makers of ProjectDox® the nation-s leading digital plan solution for state and local government announced today that the State of New Jersey Bureau of Construction Project Review, which operates under the Department of Consumer Affairs/Division of Codes and Standards, will deploy the Company-s ProjectDox software for online plan submission and review in an effort to streamline construction project approvals and fulfill mandates set by the State Legislature.

New Jersey continues to face significant recovery and reconstruction challenges in the wake of Hurricane Sandy and emergencies such as the recent Seaside Park fire, while at the same time ramping up for the national spotlight as host of major sporting events to be held in February 2014 at state-sponsored venues in the Meadowlands. State Buildings, a unit within the Bureau of Construction Project Review, is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Uniform Construction Code when a New Jersey State building is constructed or undergoes alteration, issuing permits for all construction projects.

Examples include All Healthcare Facilities, Casinos, Pre-manufactured Housing, Public Schools and Universities, the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Atlantic City Expressway, State Parks, structures owned and operated by the NJ Sports and Exposition Authority, Atlantic City Airport, South Jersey Port Corp., and all State agencies.

The State requires a 20-day to turn-around on plan reviews once a complete submission has been accepted. The volume of submissions has increased exponentially because of Sandy, and State Buildings is looking to digital plan technology as one significant way to accelerate recovery, reconstruction and development efforts statewide.

“We-re proud and honored to be working with the State of New Jersey to reinforce their remarkable resiliency in the face of major adversity, as well as in support of new opportunities going forward,” said Ron Loback, President and CEO of Avolve Software. “ePlan technology is a proven game-changer in terms of making plan review friendlier, faster and less expensive for those who are fighting to restore the built environment and investing in the State-s future,” he added.

Avolve Software Corporation will manage the State-s digital plan services infrastructure, which allows applicants doing business with New Jersey to submit electronic plan files securely online, and State Buildings to move plans along across multiple review disciplines without printing any paper, saving valuable time and money. ProjectDox is deployed in a number of jurisdictions nationwide and in Canada, including Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Portland, Phoenix, Vancouver B.C. and Edmonton Alberta.
