BALTIMORE, MD — (Marketwired) — 09/16/13 — OrderUp, the digital franchise approach to online food ordering for local markets, today announced that it has signed a deal with franchise industry veteran Robert D. Chase to bring its online food ordering service into the Phoenix market.
Chase, who is recognized for his success in turning the Money Mailer franchise into a multi-million dollar business, has purchased the rights to 15 OrderUp franchise units that span the Phoenix metropolitan market. The partnership with OrderUp marks Chase-s next big move in franchising and underscores his belief that OrderUp-s digital franchise approach is paving the way for a new frontier in the industry.
By partnering with OrderUp, Chase gains exclusive rights to 15 franchise units that encompass over 4,000 restaurants throughout the Phoenix metro area. Over the next 18 months, Chase and his team will work with local restaurant owners as they focus on building up each individual franchise unit. 750 restaurants are expected to sign on and use the OrderUp take-out and delivery service over the next 18 months.
As part of the OrderUp digital franchise business model, Chase and his team will focus on signing and managing the needs of new restaurants throughout Phoenix, while OrderUp will provide mentorship, training, customer support and the back-end technology that powers the website and mobile app that people use to place orders.
“I came across OrderUp through my involvement with the Multi-Unit Franchising Group and was immediately impressed with its unique business model,” said Mr. Chase. “The digital franchise approach is a fantastic concept, and I-m very proud to bring OrderUp to the Phoenix market. OrderUp is carving a new niche in the online food ordering space and we believe we will make it the industry leader in the Phoenix metro market.”
An accomplished veteran in the franchise industry, Mr. Chase is the current president of Money Mailer Response Marketing. He is best known for building a business of 30 Money Mailer franchises in the Phoenix and Denver metropolitan areas, where he currently delivers mailers to 1.53 million homes every month.
“OrderUp-s concept is to have great local representation with local knowledge and local content that creates an ideal experience for the consumer and the restaurant owner,” said Chris Jeffery, CEO of OrderUp. “Through his work with Money Mailer, Robert is a very well-known leader in the franchise industry, with strong roots in the Phoenix market. He is an ideal candidate for our digital franchise model and we-re excited to be working with him as he expands OrderUp across the Phoenix market.”
