SAN FRANCISCO, CA and SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwired) — 09/03/13 — Innotas (), a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for IT management, was selected by King County-s Department of Information Technology (KCIT) to gain better visibility into the status and budgets of its IT projects. Innotas offers Cloud Portfolio Management, which includes Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Application Portfolio Management (APM), Resource Management (RM), and a pre-built integration engine developed and delivered by the Innotas team.
Serving over 13,000 King County employees, KCIT uses Innotas PPM to track and record all IT project-related information. With 160 users of the Innotas solution, KCIT now is able to capture and share information about the status of each IT project with the CIO, Project Review Board staff, King County Council staff, and Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget. According to Gary Tripp, IT Project Review Manager for King County, using an IT management solution helps in making decisions about which IT projects and project budget requests to approve.
King County Department of Information Technology is also using Innotas APM, enabling inventory management of 1,700 applications, including 500 commercial applications, and 1,200 applications that require ongoing support. Innotas APM provides KCIT with a comprehensive view of its current inventory of applications, enabling the IT department to more effectively utilize and manage the applications already in place.
“Innotas provides a very effective solution for tracking our 70 IT projects, giving us better visibility into the status of each project,” said Tripp. “Importantly, it gives us a unified approach to tracking projects and applications, which is useful for everyone from the CIO to project managers.”
According to Bill Kehoe, CIO of King County, “KCIT is transforming the way we provide technology services, and by leveraging tools such as Innotas we now have the ability to be proactive in our approach to project governance, application modernization, and IT investments. The Innotas platform is a step in the right direction to help us meet our goals of becoming a more strategic, service-focused organization.”
Innotas Cloud Portfolio Management is available as a holistic solution or as point solutions for specific business requirements. This integrated, layered approach enables visibility across the entire organization, so CIOs and project managers maintain integrity and clear linkages between strategy, objectives, operations and results. It also provides financial impact assessments, and highlights systems and resource contingencies across an entire portfolio of IT projects.
“We are committed to delivering innovative and user-friendly solutions that help our customers manage and track their IT projects more easily and efficiently,” said Kevin Kern, President and CEO of Innotas. “Our solution provides complete end-to-end visibility to help organizations make informed decisions, while prioritizing all work requests and planning for future initiatives.”
King County IT provides a wide variety of services to citizens, regional partners, local government agencies and to King County departments and employees.
