This version, playing off the wildly popular, award-winning iRadar platform, is the world-s first under-the-hood radar detector to utilize a Bluetooth® connection to a smart phone. This state-of-the-art design is ideal for drivers who want advanced radar detection coupled with discreet installation to eliminate the need for mounting on vehicle windshields or dashboards.
The Cobra iRadar S-Series is installed in the engine compartment of a vehicle, thus rendering it completely invisible. Installation of the unit is easy and requires no running of wires into the cab. Instead, users simply connect the unit directly to a smartphone using Bluetooth technology to receive real-time alert information via the free Cobra iRadar app. Once paired with the app, users become members of the iRadar Community, enabling the receiving and sharing of alerts in real-time with other nearby iRadar users, including warnings of upcoming speed and red light camera enforcement, caution areas, dangerous intersections and live police locations — providing superior situational awareness behind the wheel.
