LAKE ELSINORE, CA — (Marketwired) — 07/31/13 — IDS Industries, Inc. (OTCQB: IDST) announced today the successful completion of testing of its patent-pending integrated battery management and charge controller system. The system is designed for use with lithium iron phosphate energy storage systems and will be integrated into its first energy storage system to use the novel combination in a commercial installation later this summer.
During the integration process, basic performance parameters will be evaluated and refined to ensure the functionality, reliability, and safety of the system. Extensive documentation of this first application-s performance will occur to be used in the development of a commercial-scale product release and future product development.
“We are overjoyed at the successful completion of testing of our unique system which provides battery management features and functions that currently do not exist in the field of energy storage. Our integrated system will deliver significant performance enhancements in advanced energy storage applications especially when tied with renewable energy sources,” stated Scott Plantinga, Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman of the Company. “By the end of this summer we plan to have our first commercial energy storage system fully operational and delivering enhanced ROI to its commercial user.”
The rapid growth of the residential and commercial energy storage markets are driven by the need to store energy harvested from renewable sources, such as solar and wind, the need to reduce energy costs through “peak shaving,” and the increasing unreliability of the nation-s deteriorating power grid.
The Company is seeking to provide unprecedented functionality and extended battery life to these sectors through its innovative sophisticated battery management technology and control electronics.
IDS Industries is a GIIRS-rated developer, designer, manufacturer, and seller of portable renewable electric generators for use by consumers, industry, government, and emergency management relief worldwide as well as a developer of a line of specialized battery management and control electronics for lithium iron phosphate and other advanced chemistry batteries. Advantages of renewable over fossil-fuel portable power include lower operational cost, superior reliability, greater sustainability, and expanded utility due to zero exhaust and quiet operation.
