Stratos Will Lead a Session on the Importance of User Research in Medical Device Design at the World-s Largest Gathering for Laboratory Medicine

SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwired) — 07/29/13 — today announced that Lindsey Berdan, User Interaction Designer, will lead a presentation at the annual on July 30, 2013. The event is the world-s largest gathering for laboratory medicine. Berdan-s session — part of the OEM Lecture Series — will focus on the importance of User Research in medical device design, and how good User Research impacts the overall success of the product. Stratos will also exhibit in booth #4439.

“Stratos is pleased to have the opportunity to share our design philosophies and insights with users and business leaders at the AACC Clinical Lab Expo,” Michael Nelson, Stratos Vice President of Industrial Design, said. “A user-focused design approach is important when developing any product, but becomes even more so when that product will be used in a lab or hospital. In these environments, an intuitive, accurate and easy-to-use instrument will reduce unintended consequences, and in some extreme cases, could be the difference between life and death.”

In a presentation titled “User Research: The Key to Making Technology Easy to Use,” Berdan will discuss how successfully-implemented new technologies come from having a deep understanding of the end-user-s behaviors, needs and goals. She will share how User Research can inform both marketing and product requirement documents, and how all of these steps result in products that make technology truly user-friendly.

The session will take place in George R. Brown Convention Center in Room 360DEF on July 30, 2013 at 9:40 a.m. to gain access to the session, and visit Stratos at booth #4439. Learn more about the topic of User Research in on the Stratos blog.
