MIAMI, FL — (Marketwired) — 07/25/13 — Today BarEye, a new mobile platform for buying drinks, kicked off its national launch with an expansion into five key US markets — Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami and New York City. The software platform for mobile devices (iOS & Android) adds new revenue streams for bars, clubs and chains by connecting the online social world of their customers to physical establishments, transforming the way they sell drinks, promote events and market to local consumers.
At its core, BarEye allows users to order drinks for themselves, Facebook friends and other BarEye users — no matter the occasion or location. New members simply download the app and sign-in with their Facebook account. They can then have real-time conversations with others using the app, and receive promotional offers, view a calendar of events and receive comped drinks from bars nearby. With BarEye consumers don-t need to open a tab and can avoid the common mistake of losing a credit card or ID at the bar.
“BarEye is breaking ground and offering a new way for consumers to buy drinks and interact simultaneously with each other and the bars or venues they are attending,” said Jonathan Vilma, Co-Founder. “I-ve been a bar owner for several years now and seen how quickly people get on their phones to check-in on social networks or text friends, after ordering a drink. Now with BarEye, they can open one app to do all of that and order drinks at the same time. They can even buy a drink for a friend as an icebreaker to get them to come hang out.”
The BarEye platform comes at no upfront cost to a bar, and contains an embedded business model that allows it to scale quickly within each city. As part of the five city expansion, BarEye is recruiting qualified franchisees in each market to be their eyes and ears on the ground. These franchisees will purchase a license from BarEye for $2500, giving them exclusive access to a selected geographical area of a city. It-s then the franchisee-s responsibility within that area of the city to sell and market the platform, answer questions directly from local businesses and support with any troubleshooting. Purchased drink revenue is then split between the franchisee, the bar and BarEye.
BarEye is initially focusing the franchisee model on the bar industry, but has ambitions to bring a similar model to clubs and other venues. An implementation is currently in progress with one of the top five clubs in the country by revenue. In addition to the Android and iOS apps for consumers, an iPad implementation of BarEye for bars, clubs and chains will be available in the near future for an even more efficient way to buy drinks.
Founded in 2012 by CEO Andrew Bennett, COO Richard S Hunter III, Super Bowl Champion Jonathan Vilma and built by award-winning developer CTO Rob Ruchte, the decision to expand BarEye to other top markets was made clear following the tremendous success of a pilot version of the platform in Tallahassee, Florida. Over the past year of testing, BarEye signed up 17 bars in Tallahassee with over 10,000 app downloads and over 6,000 drinks bought.
“The success of our pilot in Tallahassee was a real validation that BarEye is ready to scale,” said Andrew Bennett, CEO and founder. “Bars recognize the ever-growing need to embrace varied social networks as a means to increase their audience, engage their consumers and stay relevant. BarEye is now the platform that enables them to do just that, while also allowing their patrons to purchase drinks from wherever they are.”
Any bar in the US can sign-up to be notified of when BarEye will be available in their city. If you-re interested in becoming a BarEye franchisee or having BarEye in your bar, please contact us here — .
