RAMPF Group at Electronica and Productronica in Shanghai

Grafenberg/Zimmern o.R., 2011/02/11 – Custom-made electro casting resins and on-site service – that is what the RAMPF Group wants to offer to the visitors of Electronica & Productronica in Shanghai. The exhibition program of RAMPF in the German Pavilion (hall E1, booth 1640) includes special heat-resistant materials made of polyurethane, epoxy and silicone that can be processed easily. The solutions are also suitable for use in electric vehicles.

In China, currently the world-s largest field test runs with electric vehicles. In about 20 cities, buses and taxis are converted to electric drive. By 2015, the request of the Chinese government, 1.5 million electric cars should roll onto the streets. A challenge that encourages the RAMPF Group to revise its product range. During the exhibition Electronica & Productronica in Shanghai the companies RAMPF Giessharze and RAMPF Dosiertechnik are presenting particularly heat-resistant materials for sensitive electronic components with the appropriate application technology. The products of RAMPF are available in China via its own subsidiary RAMPF Taicang and partner Orient RAMPF Dosiertechnik. Both will receive the visitors at booth 1640 of the German pavilion.

Material highly resistant to thermal shocks
The demands made on electro casting resins could not be any more diverse. Differ-ent densities and viscosity levels on the one hand, extreme temperature variations, protection against overheating, impacts and chemicals on the other. Vehicles in particular are home nowadays to an ever increasing array of electrical and electronic components designed to enhance efficiency, safety, comfort and convenience. All the pointers indicate that this trend is set to continue. The development of electric vehicles is opening up whole new potential for power electronics – a trend which RAMPF Giessharz is ideally equipped to meet. The Grafenberg-based firm has developed the product entitled RAKU-PUR® 21-2123-2 to provide reliable, effective protection for electric motors, relays, DC/DC converters, sensors and control systems. The 2-component polyurethane (PU)-based casting material conforms to RoHS and is free of halogen. It shows a low viscosity and can be processed very easily. Its characteristics correspond to the latest and highest demands demands concerning thermal shock resistance (-40 °C+150°C), temperature resistance and cold flexibility. And that, without resulting in stress cracks or breaks in active and passive electronic components. In addition, the company offers special compounds for the charging plug in electric vehicles. They form a solid protection cover.

Compact dispensing system C-DSE for manual casting
Visitors to the Electronica & Productronica Shanghai can get to know RAMPF technologies very actively. The highlight will be a live presentation with the compact dispensing system C-DSE. The low-pressure metering and dispensing machine is casting components with RAKU PUR 21-2123-2. The C-DSE is a mobile dispensing system for manual casting of components. It is characterized by a compact design and can be easily adapted to the processing needs of the diverse static miscible casting materials. Even sedimenting or abrasive filled materials can be handled safely. The C-DSE is operated via a graphical user interface by which flow rate, mixing ratio and processing parameters can be freely adjusted.
