CALGARY, ALBERTA — (Marketwired) — 07/15/13 — Pivot Data Centres today announced it has once again successfully completed its annual audit for SSAE-16 SOC1 compliance and PCI DSS v2.0 Certification.
SOC 1 reports, which are governed using the SSAE 16 framework, focus solely on service organization controls that are likely to be relevant to an audit of a user entity-s financial statements.
PCI DSS is an abbreviation for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, the worldwide information security standard set by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council to help control and minimize points of risk to fraud or compromise of sensitive information. PCI Certification is an adherence of the policies and procedures that your business handles information to the PCI DSS standard.
“In the digital information age, companies are required to abide by certain compliance and regulatory policies,” commented Michael Landesman, VP Operations at Pivot Data Centres. “Given that we have already done the heavy lifting to comply with regulatory requirements, such as SSAE 16 and PCI, companies can save time and money with respect to their audit practices. It also demonstrates we take our systems controls and processes very seriously.”
Companies that decide to co-locate their IT infrastructure are advised to select a co-location data centre provider that has achieved these critical compliances/certifications. In doing so, it ensures the data centre-s system processes and controls are in place and operating effectively and efficiently.
