A prominent figure in the healthcare information technology industry, Holbrook brings 40 years of experience to Health Catalyst, including co-founding KLAS, one of the industry-s most respected research firms, and leading the growth of some of the most influential healthcare IT vendors and healthcare provider organizations.

From 1977 through the late 1980s, as the first corporate IT employee of , Holbrook helped to build the health system-s reputation as one of the nation-s most efficient care providers, leading the multi-hospital business that is now owned by Siemens. In the 1990s, Holbrook led the laboratory division of , a leader in medical diagnostic technology. As Executive Vice President of Sunquest, Holbrook ran all sales, marketing, contract management, product management and business development activities, helping to set the standard for customer service in the healthcare IT industry and growing the company-s customer base from 230 hospitals to over 1,000.
In 1998, Holbrook co-founded a small research firm, , that has since become the health IT industry-s most respected source of unbiased vendor performance ratings.
Most recently, Holbrook served as executive vice president of , a health information exchange pioneer that is now part of Aetna, where he was responsible for all customer experiences.
In addition to his other roles, Holbrook has held multiple elected leadership positions in the industry-s largest trade association, the (HIMSS), where he recently completed his term as vice chair of the board of directors. Holbrook served three years on the HIMSS Analytics Board; four years on the HIMSS Board; two years as chair of the HIMSS financial committee; and one year as the chair of the HIMSS Nominating committee in addition to various roles as a member of other HIMSS committees.

Holbrook holds a Bachelor of Science in zoology from Brigham Young University and a master-s degree in nutrition from Utah State University.
