CHARLOTTE, NC — (Marketwired) — 07/10/13 — ®, a leading supplier of industrial automation software, today announced that it is expanding the compatibility of its new automation metrics product with the release of FactoryKPIs for Windows. FactoryKPIs now provides cost-effective, easy-to-use data display objects, enabling key decision-makers to view and monitor manufacturing data on both Windows desktops and iOS devices anywhere in the enterprise.
FactoryKPIs originally was introduced in 2012 as a mobile app for viewing and monitoring factory performance and condition information on Apple iPad, iPad mini, iPhone and iPod touch devices. In addition to exposing data for view on Windows PCs, other enhancements to the product improve performance and usability in general. Users can now configure a KPI (key performance indicator) to refresh only when they need to see live data. This is especially useful for telecommuters using metered data plans or users with low-bandwidth connections.
“We recognized early on that users want the maximum flexibility in operating system and device choices, so we opted to develop FactoryKPIs as a -platform agnostic- solution,” said John Weber, president of Software Toolbox. “With Windows market share well over 90 percent among business users coupled with increasing market demand for mobile manufacturing management, it made absolute sense to expand FactoryKPIs to enable the widest access to plant performance data.”
FactoryKPIs licensing allows a user to display data on any combination of Windows and iOS devices. With an annual subscription starting at $500, up to 500 total KPIs can be used on up to 500 devices, including the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Microsoft Surface Pro, or any Windows PC desktop or notebook.
“Since iPads are used by more than 50 percent of business tablet users, now that FactoryKPIs supports both Windows and iOS it allows the vast majority of manufacturing decision-makers to keep in touch with their manufacturing processes using the most popular desktop and mobile platforms simultaneously,” said John Nichols, president of i-KPI Software and a co-developer of FactoryKPIs.
The FactoryKPIs product is sold and supported through Software Toolbox and its channel partners. Entry-level packs of 10 metrics start at $99. Additional metric packs are also available, with the price-per-metric decreasing as the number purchased increases. FactoryKPIs is available for download or by shipment of physical CD media. Interested users may also opt for a 14-day, no-obligation free trial. For more information and ordering, please visit the .
