REDWOOD SHORES, CA — (Marketwired) — 07/10/13 — Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL)
Enterprise communication networks are becoming more complex, and security concerns are on the rise. To help mitigate risks and improve customer contact center security and service quality, German health insurance provider KKH implemented Oracle-s Acme Packet Net-Net Enterprise Session Director, enabling Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking services and significantly reducing operating expenses.
Oracle today announced that KKH, one of Germany-s largest health insurance providers, has selected session border controller to enable Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking services — which support voice, video and streaming media applications, such as desktop sharing and Web conferencing.
KKH wanted to integrate its contact center with its unified communications infrastructure to help reduce public switched telephone network (PSTN) expenditures as well as improve service agility and security for insurance customers using its contact center.
Oracle-s Acme Packet Net-Net Enterprise Session Director helped KKH streamline SIP trunking service deployment by enabling straightforward integration with the company-s Cisco Unified Communications Manager environment, leading to improved service agility for it is IP-based contact center.
KKH implemented a highly-available configuration of Oracle-s Acme Packet Net-Net Enterprise Session Director to optimize performance and reliability by load-balancing SIP traffic and strategically rerouting SIP sessions around equipment or network failures to help improve contact center service quality.
By replacing conventional PSTN circuits with a centralized SIP trunking service, KKH has significantly reduced its operating expenses and better aligned trunking capability with business demands. The solution helps KKH mitigate risks by protecting against denial of service attacks, service overloads and other service-impacting events and enables KKH to enjoy all the benefits of SIP trunking without compromising security, reliability or service quality.
“Oracle-s Acme Packet Net-Net Enterprise Session Director helped us deploy our SIP trunking service by enabling seamless integration with our Cisco Unified Communications systems and manipulating SIP signaling content as we need it. With Oracle-s Acme Packet solution, we took an important step toward creating a more extensible telephony architecture that ensures support for future needs and value-added services, while being more cost efficient than we were with conventional PSTN technology,” said Steffen Ninebuck, network system engineer, KKH.
“Businesses around the world are implementing SIP trunking services to reduce operating costs and improve business agility. Oracle-s Acme Packet Net-Net Enterprise Session Director lets KKH realize all the benefits of SIP trunking, while maintaining the high service levels customers expect from one of Germany-s leading health insurance companies,” said Bhaskar Gorti, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications.
