LOS ANGELES, CA — (Marketwired) — 07/10/13 — Social TV Summit announced today the finalists for the 2013 Social TV Awards, covering 24 categories all relative to the Social TV industry. Judged by an elite group of entertainment personalities and executives, the nominees and winners of the coveted “STEEVEE” will be distinguished at a Black-Tie Gala at the world famous Bel-Air Country Club during the evening of July 16, 2013, preceding the Social TV Summit. Uniting the top people, platforms and programs in the Social TV arena, the 2nd Annual Social TV Awards will distinguish nominees for excelling in the fast-moving industry of social TV, and pioneering the future of television with second-screen experiences via social TV platforms, programs, solutions and more. With Billy Bush, Host of Access Hollywood, as the Master of Ceremonies, the awards will commend remarkable achievements in the ever-growing Social TV industry.
The 2013 Social TV Awards finalists consist of Social TV platforms, programs and promotions that were implemented throughout 2012 through June 28, 2013. Winners will receive a “STEEVEE,” a custom Social TV trophy, in commemoration of their industry accomplishments. Each category acknowledges individuals, brands, programmers and networks that pioneer the rapidly-expanding Social TV field.
The 24 Social TV awards to be presented include Best TV Show, Best Broadcast Network, Best Social TV Integration of Twitter, Best Branded Social TV, and Social TV Entertainer of the Year. Finalists include popular TV shows like True Blood, American Idol and Pretty Little Liars, major networks like CBS, NBC and Fox and entertainers like Conan O-Brien, Shaquille O-Neal and Larry King.
Following the Social TV Awards, on July 17, the Social TV Summit will examine the use of Social TV and its impact on the future of television. The keynote speaker is Nick Grudin, the Strategic Partner Manager for Facebook, who will provide valuable insight on how Social TV stakeholders are using apps to drive views, engage fans and monetize the second screen audience.
