.01.2011 – Radio-Television Slovenia (RTV), the national public broadcasting organization of Slovenia, installed a comprehensive Riedel intercom infrastructure for its regional studio center in Koper. Riedel Communications, one of the leading manufacturers of intercom, fiber, audio and radio technology, delivered an Artist digital matrix intercom system and an Acrobat digital wireless intercom system.
An Artist 64 matrix mainframe serves as the heart of the installation. “Artist is a very scaleable platform. You could start with a very small 8×8 matrix and expand it to up to 1,024×1,024 non-blocking ports. This makes Artist a secure investment for our future developments”, says Valter Podgornik, RTV-s responsible technician.
Depending on the application, RTV chose a mix of 27 Riedel 2100 and 5100 series control panels. “The mix of 2100 and 5100 series panels allowed us to meet our budget expectations without loosing any of the features and advantages Riedel is renowned for. The ease of use of the system and the intuitive drag and drop programming are second to none”, explains Podgorik.
A Riedel Acrobat Digital Wireless Intercom installation provides further flexibility to the wired intercom setup. Eight wireless Acrobat WB-2 beltpacks in combination with an Acrobat CC-8 base station and two CA-6 Cell Antennas are installed at RTV Center Koper. The Acrobat installation combines the mobility of radio transceivers with full duplex communication and perfect integration with the matrix intercom system.
