NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 07/02/13 — GumGum (), the premium in-image advertising platform for publishers and brands, today announced the appointment of Ryan Schinman to its advisory board. Schinman is the CEO of Platinum Rye Entertainment, the world-s largest booker of celebrity talent, models, recording artists, sports figures and other celebrities for ad campaigns and PR events.
“We are delighted to add Ryan-s talents and expertise to our esteemed advisory board,” said Ophir Tanz, founder and CEO of GumGum. “Ryan-s connections in the entertainment world and his success in brokering some of the biggest deals ever made between Madison Avenue and Hollywood will be tremendously valuable in shaping GumGum-s strategic growth path moving forward.”
A New Jersey native, Schinman started his career at the age of 20 while a senior at the University of Florida when a classmate, drafted by the New England Patriots, asked him to negotiate his contract. Schinman moved on to become a sports agent at Athletes & Artists and, later, was named CMO of Worldwide Sports and Entertainment.
At the age of 26, Schinman founded Platinum Rye Entertainment and has since been creating game-changing partnerships between celebrities and brands. He has negotiated over one billion dollars in deals for more than 100 companies including the monumental nine-figure partnership between AT&T and HBO. With offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Paris, London, Moscow and Istanbul — Platinum Rye sold its US operation to Omnicom in 2004. Schinman was also a founding partner of NOISE, a marketing company focused on engaging young adults, and the Miami Marketing Group a marketing agency best known for its involvement with LIV, Arcadia, and Story Nightclubs in Miami, FL.
“I have been impressed with the depth of GumGum-s offering and share Ophir-s vision for the increasing value of images to brands and publishers,” said Schinman. “In a cluttered marketplace and increasingly fragmented media landscape, I believe GumGum is pioneering the next level of digital advertising that will gain significant momentum in the near future.”
