The executed Memorandum of Agreement between FEMA IPAWS and Send Word Now paves the way for the company-s online application to be designated as an IPAWS alert origination tool.
FEMA-s is a federal program with a mission to modernize and integrate various means of alerting the American public. From a single approved software application, public safety alerting authorities can create a wide variety of secure mass notifications, including those appropriate for the new system (also known as the Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS)). The WEA system delivers geographically targeted, text-like alerts to enabled mobile devices without the need for consumer sign-ups.
Once completed, the Send Word Now application will utilize the latest version of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) to deliver secure messages to the IPAWS OPEN alert aggregator. Once messages are authenticated, alerts can be sent through a variety of alerting channels and mediums.
