IRVINE, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/25/13 — Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba – ) empowers users to choose how they integrate their smartphones with Toshiba-s , and business telephone solutions. Toshiba-s , and applications and features empower mobile users to make and/or receive business telephone calls on their Apple® iOS and Android smartphones.
“Toshiba delivers robust mobility options in today-s BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) world,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. “Whether users have Toshiba-s Strata CIX, IPedge or VIPedge solutions, they can use their smartphones as their primary or secondary telephones, directly accessing their office extensions for single-number reach.”
Toshiba-s IPMobility client application for IPedge and Strata CIX provides single-number reach to Apple and Android smartphone devices for both incoming and outgoing calls. Single-number reach means users only need to provide their office telephone numbers to receive incoming calls. This utilizes the existing “Find-me Follow-me” feature, which provides options to choose either sequential or simultaneous ring to the desk phone and mobile phone.
For outgoing calls, IPMobility dials through the IPedge or Strata CIX, displaying the office number caller ID and providing least cost routing for long distance and international calls. The user has the option of dialing directly through the system or having the system call back the user before making the outbound call in order to avoid mobile network long-distance charges. IPMobility accesses advanced system calling features including extension dialing, call transfer, and call record, among others.
In addition, IPMobility provides visual voice mail to remotely manage and control IPedge and Strata CIX Messaging voice mailboxes. From a mobile phone, users can view, play, reply, and forward their voice and fax messages as well as manage their greetings, name recordings and mailbox passwords.
Call Manager Mobile is built on HTML5 and empowers Apple and Android smartphone users to access Toshiba-s VIPedge cloud-based business telephone solution. With Call Manager Mobile, users are empowered to take their office calls, instant messages, and visual voice mail on their mobile phones just as if they were at their desks.
Call Manager Mobile integrates Toshiba-s IPMobility solution, providing single-number reach for both incoming and outgoing calls, so users only need to provide their office telephone numbers to make and receive calls on multiple endpoint devices. With IPMobility integration, users are also able to access advanced system calling features, including direct-extension dialing, call transfer, call record, and more.
Call Manager Mobile-s enhanced Presence feature helps users quickly find each other by providing telephone and XMPP-based enhanced presence state information. Each VIPedge customer will receive his or her own XMPP server instance for an additional level of flexibility and security.
Call Manager Mobile also handles single and group instant messaging sessions. Multiple simultaneous sessions are supported, enabling users to better communicate with others. Users also have the ability to send broadcast messages.
Toshiba-s easy-to-use “Find-me Follow-me” call routing feature comes standard with all three Toshiba business telephone solutions. Easy to turn on and off, “Find-me Follow-me” enables users to set up automatic forwarding of incoming calls on their office extensions directly to their smartphones (or any other telephone number). The incoming caller-s Caller ID is visible on the smartphone. Also standard with all Toshiba telephone systems is Twinning, which enables the simultaneous ringing of both the user-s office phone and smart phone.
Both IPMobility and Call Manager Mobile are supported on Apple iOS 5 and 6 and Android 2.3 or later. They are available for free download at the Apple App Store and Google Play App Store.
