BOSTON, MA — (Marketwired) — 06/20/13 — LAwS Communications today announced that nominations are open for the 2013 second annual ConnectedCOPS Awards, an awards program for law enforcement worldwide using social media. The ConnectedCOPS Awards were created with the intent of recognizing the great work being done by individual sworn officers and law enforcement agencies with social media. Nominations for the 2013 ConnectedCOPS Awards will be accepted now through June 30 on the ConnectedCOPS.net website.
“The best thing about the ConnectedCOPS Awards is that we-re able to highlight the best police work in social media on a global level,” stated Lauri Stevens of LAwS Communications. “The caliber of the work nominated in 2012 was astounding and the ConnectedCOPS Awards set the bar. Going forward we can only expect the quality of work to be significant and the competition to be tighter.”
With the 2013 awards, two new categories have been added. One is a strictly civilian category to recognize the civilian member of law enforcement who has achieved excellence in police communication with social media as a civilian/staff member. The second new award is for social media campaign management.
