80 Million Installs Strong, Dolphin Evolves for All-New Browsing Experience

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/19/13 — Dolphin, the most popular third-party smartphone browser, today announced that it has surpassed the 80 million installs marks and unveiled an all-new design of its browser for Android phones and tablets.

“When we built Dolphin in 2010, our goal was to create the best mobile browsing experience for the world. We believe that by giving people better access to mobile Internet, it would help them better access the world and truly change the way they live,” said Yongzhi Yang, founder and CEO of Dolphin Browser. “Now more than 55% of mobile phone owners use their phone to go online. The browser will continue to be the go-to app and we are committed to providing the best browser to the world.”

Dolphin-s growth is fueled by strong adoption in key global markets with some of the largest carriers and OEMs worldwide. The top Dolphin markets are the US, China and Japan, with strong growth in Southeast Asia.

To celebrate the 80 million-install mark, Dolphin has been completely redesigned in an effort to further simplify the browsing experience for users on Android devices.

The all-new Dolphin web app store offers access to the most popular web apps, making the browser a one-stop shop that users never have to leave. Adding applications to your Dolphin home screen is easy and once added, they can be quickly organized for one touch access. Choose from over 200 web apps, including Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, Amazon and more. The company plans to aggressively roll-out new apps throughout the year.

Dolphin has streamlined access to the most important elements of the browser, offering single swipe access to the browser menu, tab list or its very own Gesture and Sonar features. Dolphin now also enables drag and drop grouping of favorite sites and web apps into folders, similar to how applications are organized on smartphone home screens. Finally, Dolphin users will have the ability to specify search parameters directly within Dolphin Browser — limiting their search to Amazon, Twitter, Wikipedia, eBay and YouTube — important distinctions on mobile that allow users to save time and immediately get to the information they need in the format they want.

With the release of the Dolphin web app store, Dolphin renews its commitment to HTML5 developers by giving them instant access to Dolphin-s 80 million users with the latest Dolphin release.

Dolphin Browser is available for free in the Google Play store for Android devices at and in the App Store for iPhone & iPod touch at . The iPad version can be found at . For developers: to request your app be added to the Dolphin Web App Store, go to .
