DES MOINES, IA — (Marketwired) — 06/18/13 — -s Chairman and CEO Malcolm Netburn has been named the 2013 inductee to the Fulfillment Management Association (FMA) Hall of Fame. The award reflects his more than 25 years of experience serving the publishing industry, as well as his critical role in the digital media revolution. He has overseen the development of industry-first solutions that enable publishers to meet consumers- rapidly changing demands while monetizing digital content. In addition, Netburn has served on multiple boards, spoken at industry conferences and written papers on topics ranging from digital disruption to the consumer experience continuum, making him a critical thought leader to publishers and to providers of outsourced business solutions.
The award reflects not only his personal success, but also how his vision and dedication has propelled CDS Global. “CDS Global is one the most important businesses in the Hearst Corporation, and Malcolm Netburn has done a brilliant job leading this unit through a period of unprecedented industry change,” said David Carey, president of Hearst Magazines.
John Loughlin, executive vice president and general manager of Hearst Magazines, said, “Malcolm-s selection [to the Fulfillment Hall of Fame] is a wonderful acknowledgment of his many contributions and his almost decade-long leadership of CDS Global, the industry-s largest and most advanced fulfillment company.”
Netburn-s career has focused on publishing strategy, business planning, technology and database utilization, and digital media development. He previously served as president and CEO of Chemical Week Associates and Hart Publications, where he returned the business to profitability while building a new strategic platform. Prior to that position, he was publisher and senior vice president of the Christian Science Monitor and operations director for the National Wildlife Federation-s publishing unit. He also controlled operations for Scholastic-s information technology group and was a founding partner of Netburn McGill, a New York-based consulting firm that provides strategies and implementation of solutions to the challenges facing today-s media and publishing companies.
“Malcolm has always been a great supporter of not only the FMA, but of our industry as a whole. He is keenly interested in being part of this overall evolution of content and where it will take us,” says Brian Knowles, FMA president and vice president of publisher relations at Subco, Inc.
Netburn will be officially inducted during a ceremony in October in New York. “What a great honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I am humbled and energized to work even harder in the future to provide leadership and vision to our industry,” he said.
