NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 06/12/13 — MultiTouch Ltd., world leader in interactive display systems, has been named a winner in the 2013 AV Technology Awards for the Best Interactive & Remote Learning System. The AV Technology Awards recognizes outstanding AV end-users, tech managers, facility directors, and product manufacturers that provide reliable, easy-to-operate, and forward-thinking products. MultiTouch is recognized for its role in creating the world-s largest interactive multi-touch installation known as “The Cube” at the Queensland University of Technology-s Science and Engineering Centre.
A video of this magnificent installation can be seen at .
The Cube is more than two stories tall and offers a visually-stimulating experience to users. The installation was designed to inspire and engage the public and increase users- interests in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math through the use of interactive technology. MultiTouch supplied forty-eight of its 55″ Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) MultiTaction Cell displays that integrates new learning initiatives for users and spans a wide variety of curriculum-related educational programs. These include interactive applications in which users are able to reach new levels of thinking through hands-on interactive workshops, labs and digital tours.
“To be recognized by the AV Technology Awards is a testament to our team and our installation at The Cube,” says Hannu Anttila, vice president of business development of MultiTouch. “What makes The Cube so unique is the near seamless edge between the MultiTaction displays and the 14 Full HD projectors, making the end user feel as though they are right there within the installation as it creates an almost real-life experience. This level of object interaction could not be achieved without the use of MultiTouch-s MultiTaction displays.”
“You can-t beat the -Wow- factor in this installation. The innovative use of MultiTaction Cell displays with individualized MultiTouch interaction properties is most certainly visually stunning as well as a great simulated teaching tool. This project ranks high in ROI, versatility and innovation,” stated the judges of the 2013 AV Technology Awards.
The Cube was integrated by Australia-based Pro AV Solutions. MultiTouch and Pro AV collaborated together to produce the ultimate scholastic tool using the best industry technology. Comprised of multiple educational zones, running a number of interactive applications, including a virtual reef, The Cube is the heart of the university-s new Science and Engineering Centre.
