OrderGroove Appoints Ofir Shalom as Chief Technology Officer to Further Technology Leadership and Subscription Retail Innovation

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 06/11/13 — OrderGroove, the leader in subscription retail solutions, today announced that it has appointed Ofir Shalom as Chief Technology Officer. Previously serving in executive leadership roles at leading companies like TheLadders, Group Commerce and Mercury Interactive, Shalom brings more than a decade of experience in product development, software engineering and subscription-specific innovation.

As CTO of OrderGroove, Shalom will be responsible for building a world-class team to scale OrderGroove-s technology and engineering capabilities. Continued enhancements and innovations to the company-s Subscription Retail Platform allows OrderGroove to offer increasingly high-value benefits — such as a dynamic Impulse Upsell product to increase AOV — to their ever-expanding list of global omnichannel retail clients.

“OrderGroove is extremely unique amongst other SaaS platforms because our technology isn-t simply an IT infrastructure play. Rather than being a cost center, OrderGroove-s Subscription Retail Platform truly drives profitable new revenue for our clients,” said Shalom. “Using the power of our proprietary technology and subscription marketing data, there is tremendous potential for OrderGroove to add increasing value to marketers by maximizing both conversion and retention for their businesses. The team and technology at OrderGroove provide the ideal combination for retailers looking to capitalize on the power of subscriptions. I am very pleased to join the team at OrderGroove and look forward to continuing the company-s tremendous momentum.”

“As our business — and our clients- businesses — continue to grow, building and scaling a world-class engineering team and platform to accelerate our pace of innovation is paramount,” said OrderGroove CEO Greg Alvo. “Ofir brings significant expertise in guiding and constructing engineering organizations and has driven tremendous value for every company he-s been a part of. I look forward to his immediate impact as we aggressively hire new engineering talent, continue to push the envelope with our platform, and disrupt the future of Subscription Retail with our leading technology.”

Prior to OrderGroove, Shalom was the CTO at Group Commerce where he built and developed a leading SaaS-based eCommerce platform. He also served as the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Product and Innovation at Fareportal where he oversaw the planning, design, development and delivery of the company-s technology products.

Earlier in his career, Shalom served as Vice President of Engineering at TheLadders.com, the leading +$100K online subscription and recruitment service. In this position he led the development of an ecommerce subscription service and helped scale the team from 15 to 65 engineers. During his tenure, he also revamped all aspects of product delivery, while building the company-s R&D team from the ground up.

Prior to TheLadders.com, Shalom led the global applications engineering group at Check Point Software Technologies, developing web-based security management products, and oversaw engineering at San Francisco-based Mercury Interactive, a leading IT management software company, which was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2006 for $4.5B. In this role, Ofir grew the team from 0-45 engineers, guiding the research and development of products from initial development to launch.

OrderGroove is the leader in subscription retail solutions, using technology to empower brands to identify, interact with, and deepen relationships with their most profitable customers. The company-s revolutionary SaaS-based Subscription Retail Platform, coupled with its Client Solutions & Client Success teams, allows retailers to tap into the power of convenience to turn new and existing customers into repeat buyers — dramatically increasing sales, building loyalty, and maximizing customer lifetime value by 200 – 400%. Brands using OrderGroove include Grainger, NBTY, Teavana, L-Oreal, Jockey, Kiehl-s, Swanson Health, Freshpair and 70+ more. The company is privately held and headquartered in New York, NY and backed by institutional investors including Fung Capital, Legend and SWaN Ventures, Lerer Ventures and Allegro Venture Partners.
