SAN DIEGO, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/05/13 — QuickFire Networks Corporation introduces a new industry benchmark for high-end servers: energy efficiency. QuickFire Networks- T-Video appliances, based upon the 4th generation Intel® Core processor family (formerly codenamed “Haswell”), available later this year, will offer as-yet unseen energy efficiency, as well as continue to provide carrier-grade reliability and scalability and the levels of density demanded by operators who need to provide custom video streams to subscribers regardless of device or access network.

Today, T-Video can deliver up to 72 live transcoded 1080p videos in a single rack unit. This can be done using only 500 Watts, or 7 Watts per video channel. By adopting 4th generation Intel Core processor designs, QuickFire Networks will be able to provide greater capacity with an energy budget of under 4 Watts per video channel. Today, most COTS-based systems use up to 10x more power, or 75 Watts per video channel.
