SACRAMENTO, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/05/13 — In their 12th year, the Center for Digital Government-s 2013 Awards were announced last night at e.Republic-s Southwest held in Austin, Texas.
The state of Texas is using technology in exciting ways! Here are a few highlights from this year-s award recipients:
Texas- Department of Transportation uses a Web-based application called Crash Reporting and Analysis for Safer Highways (CRASH) to enter accident information electronically — reducing reporting time, costs and improving resource allocation.
Bexar County developed eTruancy, a Web-based electronic filing portal that allows schools to file juvenile truancy cases online directly with the county.
Rodeo Austin launched a new feature called SCORE IT! within their mobile application to engage fans by allowing them to score the rides, guess run times and receive prizes in seven rodeo events.
“We are honored to present this year-s Best of Texas Awards to these outstanding recipients,” said Todd Sander, executive director of the Center for Digital Government. “The individuals and groups committed to improving government interactions with citizens deserve high recognition and praise. It is their innovation and dedication to engage citizens that constantly improves the communities of the great state of Texas. Congratulations!”
The Center for Digital Government-s Best of Texas Awards program recognizes public sector professionals and local government organizations for their dedication and contributions to advance information technology in Texas.
