NATRUE, the International Natural and Organic Cosmetics Association promotes natural skin care and represents more than half of the European market for natural skin care. In absence of a legal protection, the non-profit organisation has defined a strong standard. All products bearing the NATRUE-logo adhere to these strict rules.
“Natural and organic products are made with lots of know-how, love and care,” says Julie Tyrrell, Director General of the Association. “They deserve to be celebrated. That-s why we don-t simply list all certified products. We put them under the spotlight in our new NATRUE product world where everyone can see what makes them so special.”
Even more important, the site has a mobile version so that you can find information about a product before you buy it. Go to m.natrue.org on your mobile phone and check whether the product is certified as Natural Cosmetics, Natural Cosmetics with organic portion, Organic Cosmetics.
The mobile site also has all the other exciting information about the products and the companies behind them.
“It is a protection against green-washing and an exciting shopping experience at once: everyone can check whether the product really is natural and everyone can see what it actually contains,” says Moritz Aebersold, president of NATRUE and director of Weleda AG.
“This will become even more exciting when the first -quick response- (QR) codes appear on products. Consumers will automatically be sent to the product description by taking a picture of the code with the camera in their mobile phone.
The new website is also a community and has a blog with latest news, views and beauty tips. Everyone can join the debate,” says Julie Tyrrell. “We want natural and organic products to acquire appropriate legal protection and we need all the support we can get. We encourage all fans of natural beauty to join us on www.natrue.org/community.”
